So, before I post episode 40 - the non-stop trance mix (have you bought your glowsticks yet? :P) I was listening to DJ Choboo on the SRC @OMGKpop where she played a request for 1TYM’s Hot Duhgo, an old skool K-Hip hop track.
When I first started w. the SRC I somehow volunteered myself to mix one of our dj’s at the time, DJ CeeJay’s fan rendition of that song. She had written this entire rap in English and it was soo good I felt the mix she gave it didn’t do the song the justice. Me, I actually know VERY little about music production, I don’t play an instrument and only got to Level 2 in piano. I just know what sounds good and flows and I guess I got rhythm. I figured I should try and see what I can come up with in my limited knowledge of actual music production.
Anyways, this is what I ended up with:
There are bits of my voice in the background here and there, but it’s pretty much all Ceejay’s voice layered at different pitches. It’s really too bad there isn’t a clean instrumental of the track or else the sound would’ve been much clearer, but it works.
As promised here is the 2nd of 3 episodes of POP 88.
