This year end special of POP 88 brings you my personal favorites of 2008. I really tried to be diverse, and made every effort not to repeat songs I’ve already played this year. It is, however, rather bias as you will see/hear. It is MY personal favorites list, afterall.

Again, I find some trouble finding a decent new years resolution and resolve to use the word “actually” less in my podcast … although listening back to the show, sounds like I’ve already failed miserably even before the new year started. Someone run a bean counter on that - thanks.

Special thanks to Sam Dunn and Scot McFayden for taking the time to speak with me about their upcoming documentary, GLOBAL METAL.

GLOBAL METAL is the sequel to the successful documentary METAL: A Headbanger’s Journey about the evolution of Heavy Metal music. GLOBAL METAL is about the effect globalization has had on heavy metal music. I strongly recommend watching both documentaries regardless if you’re fan of the music or not.

GLOBAL METAL opens in Toronto and Vancouver June 20th and in Montreal June 27th. Look out for it at a film festival near you.

While Canada was having a nice Victoria Day long weekend, I was down in LA at the Korean Music Festival held at the Hollywood Bowl. I originally had not intended to go, but then all the signs were telling me that I should … so I bit the bullet and went. And as expensive as it was, it was worth every penny. It was also my first time getting drunk at a concert.

I even saw DBSK and Yoona from SNSD in the hotel lobby - course, I was only there to see one person - regular listeners can take a wild guess - everyone else will just have to listen to the podcast.

Since this is the last show of the year, I thought I would share with you my personal favorites of 2007. All have been released this year and no, it’s not all Chae Yeon. I’m actually surprised at my list of top 10, (in no particular order) for this year.
